US Navy Uses Spike Miniature Missiles to Shoot Down UAVs

Weapons specialists at the US Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) at China Lake, CA. have recently tested the capability of guided missile to defeat an unmanned aerial vehicle in flight. Two Spike 'forward-firing miniature missiles' were used to defeat two Outlaw UAVs, employing both proximity and contact activation (in separate tests)

RAFAEL to Produce Spike LR2 Guided Missiles in Australia

Australia selected the Israeli Spike LR2 multi-purpose guided missile to equip the new Boxer Combat Reconnaissance vehicles procured from Rheinmetall Defense under an A$2.1 billion Under project Land 400 Phase 2 contract. Australia is the second user to select the new LR2 version of the missile, following the Israel Defense Forces that placed an order for 2,000 in 2017.

Turkish UMTAS Missile Dropped From a Bayraktar Tactical Drone

A Turkish drone has successfully completed firing tests of UMTAS anti-tank missile. On the recent test the Bayraktar TB2 drone carried two missiles at a total weight of 75 kg. One missile was dropped from an altitude of 16,000 ft. to hit a 2x2 meter laser-designated target self designated from the drone, from a distance of 8,000 meters.

Boeing Commits to Reciprocal Procurement in Israel to Support $10B Mega Deal

Boeing has agreed to spend billions of dollars in Israel over the coming decade if it wins major defense contracts, Israel’s Economy Ministry said on Tuesday. The “reciprocal procurement” agreement calls for Boeing to collaborate with Israeli industries for at least 35 percent of the value of any transaction it signs with the Israeli government.
