Boeing Awarded US$6 Billion to Build 36 Eagles for Qatar

Boeing Defense, Space, & Security company has been awarded a $6,173,500,000 undefinitized contract action contract for the F-15 Qatar program. FMS funds in the amount of $3,019,750,000 are being obligated at the time of award. This sole source contract provides for the foreign military sales (FMS) requirement to procure 36 new F-15QA aircraft for the Qatar Emiri Air Force. Work will be performed in St. Louis, Missouri, with an expected completion date of Dec. 30, 2022.

Qatar Acquires Ballistic Missiles from China

Qatar is fielding a short-range ballistic missile with a range of 480 km, an act that further expands the country's reach and deterrence amidst raw with neighboring UAE and Saudi Arabia. The first units of SY-400 missile, to be displayed on the national parade, was seen publicly for the first time during the rehearsals yesterday.

Qatar’s Race for Air Power

In recent months Qatar defense officials were busy dealing in shopping for fighter jets to expand their minuscule air force into a significant, modern air power. If those deals are fulfilled, in less than five years the Qatari Emiri Air Force (QEAF) will increase its order of battle from the current nine Mirage 2000-5 fighters to 96 modern combat jets, armed with the latest weapons the Western world can offer.

Qatar Confirms Order for 24 Rafales

The contract for the purchase of 24 Rafale aircraft by Qatar came into force today. Qatar joins France, Egypt and India that have ordered the Rafale. The Qatari order increases the foreign orders worth €15 billion for Rafale to 84.

Qatar lines up as third International customer for Rafale

Qatar has agreed to buy 24 Dassault Aviation-built Rafale fighter jets in a deal worth 6.3 billion euros ($7 billion). France will start delivering Rafale fighter jets to Qatar from mid-2018 at the rate of 11 per year. The new order increases Dassault's Rafale export backlog to 84.

Raytheon bags $2.4 billion to supply Qatar with Patriot air defense...

Raytheon Company has received a $2.4 billion Foreign Military Sales contract for fire units of the Patriot Air & Missile Defense System for the State of Qatar. The acquisition is part of an Armed Services modernization and recapitalization effort announced by Qatar in March of this year. The US part - including the Boeing Apache helicopters, Patriot and Raytheon/Lockheed Martin Javelin missile were valued at $11 billion dollars.
