First Order for BrightNite Helicopter Piloting System
Elbit Systems received a first order for the BrightNite vision system from one of NATO air forces in, (name of the country has not been released). BrightNite is designed to enhance helicopter pilot visibility and situational awareness in Degraded Visual Environment (DVE) conditions. The company is expected to deliver the systems under a $17 million contract, within 30 months.

The Boeing Co., St. Louis, Missouri, is being awarded an $82 million to deliver 12 Infrared Search and Track (IRST) systems for the F/A-18E/F aircraft. The IRST system developed and built by Lockheed Martin is a long-wave infrared (LWIR) detection system housed in a centerline pod. The IRST acts like a passive radar and targets airborne vehicles in a radar-denied environment.

MUSIC Demonstrates Laser DIRCM Capability
