Israel’s specialty and combat vehicle producer Carmor unveils the Mantis at Eurosatory 2018. The vehicle to be displayed at the defense exhibition in Paris next week is the first variant of a new family of vehicles designed to perform combat and combat support missions.

Plasan expands the Sandcat family with the introduction of the 4 GEN Sandcat. The new generation uses a monocoque hull, that eliminates the need for the Ford 550 frame, although retaining the automotive parts of the heavy-duty commercial vehicle. The use of a monocoque hull enabled designers to improve the vehicle's blast protection while retaining the overall vehicle's weight below nine tons.

New Orders Expand Indian LRSAM Integration to More Vessels
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) announced today it has been awarded an additional, $630 million- contract for the supply of LRSAM air & missile defense systems for four ships of the Indian navy. The type of ships was not released but are likely to be Project 15B Visakhapatnam-class missile destroyers, scheduled for commissioning from 2018 through 2024.

IAI signed today a second contract for the delivery of Barak 8 Long Range SAM (LRSAM) for the first locally built aircraft carrier - Vikrant. An Austrian Assault Weapon Positioned as a Possible Successor of the German G36 Rifle
The German defense company Rheinmetall has teamed with Austrian arms manufacturer Steyr Mannlicher to manufacture and market the RS556 - a German version of the 5.56mm x 45 cal. modular assault rifle system based on Steyr's STM556. Rheinmetall positions the weapon as a proposed replacement for the current German military assault rifle - G36 made by Heckler & Koch.

The French defense procurement agency (DGA) selected Thales to provide up to 70 ‘Spy'Ranger’ Mini-Drone Reconnaissance Systems (SMDR) for the French Army.
