Rheinmetall and MBDA launched today a mobile air defense system designed to defeat aerial targets at close- and very close-range, including small and very unmanned aerial systems (UAS, LSS). As an element of the future integrated air defence, the new modular system is positioned to become a possible successor to the lightweight air defence system leFlaSys/Stinger currently in use with the Bundeswehr.

Milrem Robotics company from Estonia has developed a Robotic Combat Vehicle (RCV) known as Type-X, introducing new and exciting manned-unmanned capabilities to modern combat. "Milrem Robotics plans to complete the vehicle prototype by the end of the 3rd quarter of 2020 and begin mobility testing in October." Kuldar Väärsi, Milrem CEO said.

Israel's Plasan is showcasing a new model of the Sandcat light armored vehicle at Eurosatory 2016. Two versions of the vehicle are on display here: the Sandcat Stormer, shown in an ISR version, and a light combat vehicle carrying Rafael's Samson remote weapon station (RWS), mounting a machine gun, Spike missiles and optronics.

Unveiled yesterday at Eurosatory 2016 by Israel based Bird Aerosystems, SPREOS combines a radar based verification sensor and an active laser effector to form a directional, infrared countermeasure (DIRCM) system.
