Lockheed Martin has received a $6.07 billion contract from the U.S. Army for the production of Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) interceptors. PAC-3 MSE leverages an advanced multi-mission interceptor that expands the Patriot weapon system's capability against advanced tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and aircraft.

Lockheed Martin successfully tested today the long-range missile designed for the Army's Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) program. The program now enters a 14-month technology maturation risk reduction phase that will lead to the delivery of 30 missiles by late 2023 under an urgent material release. 

The F-35 Joint Program Office and Lockheed Martin finalized a $34 billion agreement for the production and delivery of 478 F-35s in three models, at the lowest aircraft price during the history of the Program.

Lockheed Martin Skunk Works, the Missile Defense Agency, and the U.S. Air Force successfully connected an F-35, U-2 and a ground station in a ground-breaking test demonstrating a secure distribution of sensitive information across multiple platforms, facilitating true multi-domain operation. During the demonstration, called Project Riot, an F-35 detected a missile launch at long range, using standard onboard sensors. It then shared that information through the U-2 gateway, providing an early warning to an air defense center on the ground, enabling the commander to quickly make the decision to target the threat.

The U.S. Department of Defense and Lockheed Martin have finalized an $11.5 billion contract for the production and delivery of 141 F-35 aircraft at the lowest per aircraft price in program history. The 11th Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP 11) agreement funds 91 aircraft for the U.S. Services, 28 for F-35 International Partners and 22 for F-35 Foreign Military Sales customers. Deliveries will begin in 2019.

The Raytheon Company and Dynetics are both developing laser weapon prototypes that will utilize 100 kW class laser weapons. One of the prototypes will be tested by the Army in 2022. Each company received $10 million from the U.S. Army recently, to build a High Energy Laser Tactical Vehicle Demonstrator (HEL TVD) prototype based on the Army Oshkosh tactical FMTV truck.

Lockheed Martin received a $413.8 million contract from the U.S. Air Force for Lot 15 production of the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM)-Extended Range (ER) version. The production lot that includes 360 JASSM-ER missiles, brings the total JASSM-ER missiles under contract to 910, and to more than 3,000 missiles for JASSM and JASSM-ER combined.

The U.S. Air Force authorized extending BY 50 percent the service life of the Lockheed Martin F-16 enabling operators of the Fighting Falcon to safely fly Block 40-52 aircraft to 2048 and beyond

Lockheed Martin has successfully launched today the WorldView-4 commercial remote sensing spacecraft for DigitalGlobe, Inc. The satellite orbits Earth every 90 minutes, traveling 17,000 miles per hour, providing the world's highest-resolution 30 cm commercial satellite imagery, capturing as much as 680,000 square kilometers of the Earth's surface daily.

Lockheed Martin and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) have signed a comprehensive teaming agreement to partner on the Multi-mission Combat Ship (MCS), which is based on a DSME hull design and intended for the corvette market.

Lockheed Martin announced today that it will offer the T-50A in the U.S. Air Force's T-X Advanced Pilot Training (APT). The T-50A is the US designation reserved for the Korean T-50 Golden Eagle. The US Air Force plans to acquire 350 advanced trainers, to replace the +50 year old T-38 Talon in service.

The US Missile Defense Agency (MDA) has completed three major missile defense tests this week, a closing accord for an ambitious test plan this year. Two tests performed earlier today included a successful exo-atmospheric intercept test of the Arrow 3 interceptor, and first intercept mission of the Land-Based Standard Missile SM-3 Block IB launched from a land-based site. A third test conducted earlier this week tested the latest, most advanced variant of Standard Missile 3 series, the US-Japanese SM-3 Block IIA.

Lockheed Martin Corp has agreed to buy United Technologies Corp's (UTC) Sikorsky Aircraft for over $8 billion, US news agency Reuters reported on Sunday. Such a deal would enhance Lockheed Martin's dominance in the aerospace market, while adding a civil element to its defense-oriented portfolio.

Two industry groups are proposing business aircraft platforms as an alternative for the US Air Force JSTARS replacement. The Air Force is planning to retire the existing Boeing 707-based E-8Cs from 2025-2026 and is expecting to have at least four of the new planes in production by 2023.
