New AC-130J Gunship In Production
The first MC-130J Commando II that will be converted to become an AC-130J Gunship is being built at the Lockheed Martin C-130 production facility here. The AC-130J will be equipped with a Precision Strike Package creating the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command's newest gunship. Sixteen AC-130Js are planned with an Initial Operating Capability scheduled for 2015.
Pilatus Aircraft Introduce the PC-12 Spectre Special Mission Aircraft
The growing demand for special mission aircraft has raised the interest in the PC-12NG / Spectre platform from the Swiss company Pilatus. At the recent NBAA business jet convention in Las vegas the Swiss company Pilatus presented the special mission ‘Spectre’, a version of the PC-12 NG single-engine turboprop designed exclusively to support multiple government, military, law enforcement and medevac roles.
