Israel Requests Eight SH-60F SeaHawk from US Navy Surplus
Israel is seeking US approval for the supply of eight SH-60F Sea-Hawk Helicopters from US Navy surplus to support the Israeli Navy security operations in the Mediterranean Sea. The helicopters will initially operate with the four new Meko-100 Class Magen corvettes Israel will receive from Germany by 2020.

On 21 December, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) notified Congress of a possible sale of four Northrop Grumman RQ-4 Block 30(I) Global Hawk UAVs to the Republic of Korea (ROK) for an estimated sale price of $1.2 billion, almost a year after a proposed Global Hawk purchase was postponed by South Korea, due to concerns related to pricing and aircraft performance. Washington’s foot-dragging on the deal has been a major disappointment for South Korean leaders and military commanders.

US Congress Formally Notified of Japan’s F-35 Purchase
The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) formally notified the United States Congress on 30 April of a potential Foreign Military Sale of Lockheed Martin F-35A Joint Strike Fighters (JSF) to Japan. The sale includes an initial order for four F-35A Conventional Take-Off and Landing (CTOL) stealth fighters with an option for the purchase of an additional 38 F-35A CTOL aircraft. The cost of the purchase is estimated to be $10 billion.
