Su-30 MKI Conducts First Flight with BrahMos Supersonic Cruise Missile
India tested today an air-launched version of the BrahMos supersonic attack missile on an Indian Air Force (IAF) Sukhoi Su-30 MKI aircraft. The missile was not launched on this test, as the flight was designed to test the weapon's aircraft integration.
Successful test for the Indian ASTRA BVR missile
India’s Beyond Visual Range (BVR) air-to-air missile ASTRA completed a successful test flight yesterday. Developed by the Indian Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), the unarmed missile was launched from a Sukhoi Su-30MKI against a Lakshya target over the Integrated Test Range in Balasore, off the coast of Odisha. Telemetry and Electro-optical tracking stations confirmed the successful engagement.
Russian group offers communications upgrades for Indian Su-30MKI
The Russian group United Instrument Manufacturing Concern (UIMC) is introducing advanced communications gear to enhance data communications on the Indian Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter jet. Systems presented at Aero India 2015 include the S-112 aviation data communication system, NKVS-27 multi-channel voice/data radio AT-E data exchange terminal, the Russian equivalent to Western JTIDS/Link 16.
Indian Air Force Opts for More Su-30MKI, Despite Problems
