Clearing MTCR Obstacle, India Requests the US to Supply Weaponized Drones

India's Ministry of Defence (MoD) issued a letter of request (LoR) to the United States on 17 June to procure 22 multi-mission General Atomics Guardian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for the Indian Navy. The Guardian is a maritime variant of the Predator B. India is requesting the sale of these drones via the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) route.

Drone Anti-Collision System Completes Operational Test

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) completed operational flight tests of Detect and Avoid (DAA) systems using Due Regard Radar (DRR) systems on board its GA-ASI Predator B drones. The tests confirmed that the DAA system provided the RPA pilot with a clear picture of surrounding air traffic, at least as good as 'eyes in the cockpit' of a manned aircraft.

Guardian Add-On Missile-Defense System Being Tested on a KC135 Tanker

A U.S. Air National Guard's KC-135 air refueling aircraft equipped with the Northrop Grumman Guardian Anti-Missile Defense System has completed air worthiness flight testing.
