In a trend to improve wide-area persistent surveillance (WAPS) beyond existing capabilities, three defense industries from Israel unveil groundbreaking, lightweight WAPS systems designed for small, tactical unmanned aerial systems (STUAS) at the Singapore Airshow. These platforms are designed to operate with tactical forces and provide intelligence support to the units in direct contact with the enemy.
The United Kingdom has ordered six Drone Dome from Israel's RAFAEL company under an Urgent Capability Requirement (UCR) program, providing quick reaction counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UAS) capability. The first phase of the deal is worth US$20 million and will be delivered this year.

Controp Precision Technology is unveiling the SPEED-ER, an ultra-long-range, land-based observation system operating in three channels – Visible, Thermal and SWIR. The company will display the new system later this month at the Eurosatory exhibition in Paris, France.

An automated bird detection system based on the Israeli Spider persistent surveillance system has been tested by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to improve the capability to detect and track bird activity near airports. A derivative of the system can also detect foreign objects and debris (FOD) on runways and taxiways.
