The Netherlands Selects BAE Systems to Integrate APS into their CV9035NL...

The Royal Netherlands Army has been working closely with BAE Systems Hägglunds to study the implementation of the Iron Fist APS onto the CV9035NL since 2015. The new systems are expected to join the vehicle as part of its planned Mid-Life Upgrade, thus improving its survivability and situational awareness. The Dutch decision is closely followed by the Scandinavian countries, Switzerland, Denmark and Estonia that also operating this vehicle.

The Defense Material Organization (DMO) of the Netherlands announced the selection of Vectronix AG, Switzerland (a subsidiary of Safran Electronics & Defense) to supply more than 1,000 handheld thermal sights for the Dutch Army.

Boeing to Upgrade Dutch CH-47D Chinooks to F-Model

Netherlands awards Boeing an upgrading contract for six Chinook helicopters, with planned to begin in 2021. Upgrading six CH-47D to the latest F-model configuration will bring the Dutch fleet to 20 F-model Chinooks.

Benelux Invest $150 million in Infantry Smart Vests

Elbit Systems announced today that its subsidiary, Elbit Systems Land and C4I Ltd. was awarded a contract from the Dutch Ministry of Defense, to supply 'Smart Vests' to equip the infantry soldiers in the Benelux countries – Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg. The contract, valued at approximately US$150 million, will be performed over a five-year period.

Netherlands to field four MQ-9 Reaper drones by 2017

The US is moving forward with the sale of four General Atomics MQ-9 Reaper Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) to the Netherlands. The Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) will begin receiving the new drones in 2016 and expects to have the first unit operational in 2017.

NATO establishes a fleet of multirole tanker transport fleet

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is establishing a multinational fleet of Multinational, Multi Role Tanker Transport Fleet (MMF), the acquisition of the fleet will be lead by the Netherlands. The decision followed the principal approval of ten European countries which signed the letter of intent to jointly purchase and operate the tanker fleet on November 2012.
