Australia Establishes a Cyber Training Center

Elbit Systems of Australia has been chosen to deliver a cyber training range for the Australian Department of Defence, under a three-year contract to boost the country's cyber security capability.

The British Ministry of Defense has selected four groups to bid for its upcoming Air Support to Defense Operational Training (ASDOT) requirement. Each of the groups selected for the program has teamed with training services specialists from the USA, Canada, and Israel to deliver adversary aircraft and weapons. The winning group will operate various high-performance jets simulating aggressor fighter and attack planes, cruise missiles and electronic combat to training British air, land and naval forces. A final selection is expected in September 2018 followed by the contract award in 2020 that could be worth up to £1.5 billion over 15 years.

The US Department of Defense has assigned F-35 Regional Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul and Upgrade (MRO&U) capability for airframes and engines for the European and Asia Pacific Regions. Participating nations were provided with requirements for Regional MRO&U, or "heavy maintenance" needs for both F-35 engines and airframes.

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has expanded its 'Ehud' Autonomous Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (AACMI) family to support Eastern fighter aircraft in addition to its Western fighter aircraft related advanced capabilities. At Aero-India 2013 the company is unveiling the EHUD pod configured in an R73 air-to-air missile enclosure, making the pod the only AACMI pod in the market, which can fit any R73 compatible aircraft.

The $50 million contract was awarded to Intelligent Decisions, where Quantum as a subcontractor, is expected to deliver several thousands systems over 18 months. The evaluation of the trial batches is scheduled to begin at Ft. Bennings in January 2012, supporting the Army's Force Generation (ARFORGEN) cycle.
