Iran plans fielding Bavar 373 air & missile defense system this...

Iran unveiled yesterday the Bavar-373, an indigenous long-range air defense missile defense system employing Sayyad-3 (Hunter III) interceptor during the Army National Day parade. Iran launched the indigenous development program after the delivery of Russian S300 systems was suspended under the sanctions imposed on Iran by the UN in 2010. Immediately after the cancellation of the Russian sale Iran displayed a mockup of a similar weapon during a military march in Tehran, claiming it is developing its own version of the system.

Iran’s cruise missile could strike targets beyond 2000 km

Iran unveiled today a new, long range surface-launched cruise missile designed for land-attack. The cruise missile called 'Soumar' was presented today. The missile is believed to be one of the variants of the 'Meshkat' cruise missile announced in 2012. Meshkat is believed to be a reverse engineered version of the Russian Kh55 cruise missile, transferred by Ukraine to Iran in 2001.

Iran tests new drones, air defense missiles during wargames

The Iranian air defense command has introduced a third generation evolution of the Hawk missile, locally designated ‘Shalamcheh’, operated along with new radar and ELINT systems. The Iranian Army has also tested its new Mohajer type drones during the recent exercises.

Iran: We supplied ballistic guided rockets to Hezbollah

Iranian and Lebanese sources have recently confirmed that the Iranian backed Lebanese group Hezbollah has received the Iranian Fateh-110 guided ballistic missiles, and inducted the weapon into its missile arsenal. With a range of 250-350 km the new missile can hit targets provides the group with a capability to hit any target in Israel up to the northern Negev.

The Israeli drone downed by the Iranian IRGC on August 23 may have exploited a serious gap in Iran's air defense system, an Iranian analyst told Azeri publication Trend.

Iran claim to have downed an Israeli ‘stealth drone’

Iran reported today its air defense forces have downed an Israeli unmanned aircraft possibly a previously unknown, stealth model. The aircraft was intercepted by a surface-to-air missile. "A pilotless Israeli spy plane was shot down after it was traced and intercepted by the IRGC Aerospace Force," a statement by the Iranian Republican Guards Corps' (IRGC) announced.
