Rheinmetall Adds a Fire Support Vehicle to the Lynx KF-41 Family

Rheinmetall has unveiled a new member of the company’s Lynx combat vehicle family. Described as the mechanized fire support variant of the Lynx KF41 IFV, the Lynx 120, comprises a turret concept that mounts the proven 120mm smoothbore cannon with the Lynx KF 41 chassis.

Hungary Opts for Hybrid Active Protection for its Lynxes

209 of the 218 new Lynx infantry fighting vehicles recently ordered by Hungary will be equipped with Rheinmetall’s StrikeShield hard-kill active protection system (APS). These APS will be supplied by Rheinmetall Protection Systems GmbH. The new protection systems at a cost of €800,000 per unit.

German Lynx AFVs Proposed to Replace Czech BMPs

Rheinmetall is showcasing its new family of LYNX combat vehicles at the IDET 2017 in the Czech Republic city of Brno. Based on mature technologies and components the LYNX is positioned as an advanced, mid-weight armored vehicle designed to replace AFVs that are gradually being phased out, such as the BMP-1 and BMP-2 used by many of the Eastern European countries, including the Czech Republic.

Eurosatory 2016: Lynx, a New, Tracked, Medium Weight AFV Debut

Rheinmetall unveilled today the Lynx, its latest tracked combat vehicle at the Eurosatory defense exhibition in Paris. The new vehicle is one of two models developed by the German company, positioned as an independently developped, tracked combat system positioned primarily to compete in export markets.
