MEADS Air Defense System Progresses Despite Uncertain Future

The PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) performed the first successful intercept test today fired from the Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS) MEADS lightweight launcher and employing the MEADS system battle manager. The test, first of three planned in the next 24 months, are part of the ongoing system development, currently funded through 2014.
