German Puma Equips with MUSS Soft-Kill APS
The HENSOLDT company has delivered the 300th active protection system (soft kill) equipping the German Puma infantry fighting vehicle. In total, the company is under contract to deliver 342 MUSS equipment sets by 2020 to PSM, the vehicle manufacturing JV.
AeroVironment Enhances Puma UAV to Endure E-Combat
AeroVironment, Inc. is unveiled today the Puma 3 AE, a new version of its proven RQ-20B Puma AE small tactical UAV that includes upgrades that prepare the air-vehicle for operation in rugged terrain and challenging electronic combat environment. The updated design enables the SUAS to carry advanced, third-party payloads and software applications. The entire system has also been reduced in size, now enabling to carry a flyable system in a single case.

German Military to Administer Deep Cuts in Manpower, Procurement
Bowing under economical burden the german Government plans deep cuts in defense spending, dramatically reducing planned procurement of main weapon systems and platforms. Overall the personnel level in military services will be reduced from 185,000 to 65,000, to include only professional service members. Among the hardest hit industry group will be EADS, with its Eurofighter Typhoon, NH90, Tiger helicopters and Euro Hawk drones affected, all programs are managed by EADS subsidiaries.
