A Locally Developed ‘Loyal Wingman’ to Fly in Australia by 2020

Boeing has introduced today its newest unmanned platform, the Boeing Airpower Teaming System (ATS), designed to extend airborne missions through smart teaming with existing, manned military aircraft. Designed and built by Boeing Australia, the ATS represents Boeing's largest investment in a new unmanned aircraft program outside the United States. The Australian government allocated $40 million in support of the program and considers to include the new platform as part the RAAF '5th GEN Air Force' modernization under 'Plan Jericho'

Canada to buy Australia’s used Hornets

Canada plans to buy 18 used F/A-18 Hornet fighter planes from Australia to fill the air forces’ fighters shortage. The purchase is regarded as a stopgap measure as Ottawa moves forward with a more permanent selection of a future replacement for the CF-18.

Indonesian Sukhois Arrive at Darwin for Pitch Black 2012

Four Flanker type fighters from Indonesia are participating for the first time in the annual Pitch Black exercise in Australia opening today. Arriving at Darwin, in Northern Australia the Indonesian fighters two Su-30 and two Su-27 were escorted by to Australian No. 77 Squadron F/A-18 Hornet Aircraft.

Boeing EA-18G Growlers Deployed by US Navy
