Hungary to Upgrade its Leased Gripen Fleet

Hungary will soon operate improved Gripen fighter jets similar to those used by the Swedish Air Force, following the modernization of its leased aircraft to the latest version MS20 Block 2 version. This upgrade brings several improvements in sensors, weapons, and avionics. The Swedish Air Force first introduced this upgrade in 2016.

Colombia Eyes Second Hand Typhoons from Spain

The Colombian Air Force is evaluating several options to modernize its fleet of fighter aircraft. Czech Republic extend Gripen lease through 2027

The Czech Republic is extending the service of leased JAS39 C/D Gripen fighter jets in 12 years, maintaining the fleet of 14 Gripens through 2027. Sweden, Hungary Extend Gripen Lease

The government of Sweden approved and ratified a ten-year extension of Hungary’s lease of Gripen fighter aircraft last week. Apparently, the limit of flight-hours was increased by 95%, reaching 32,000 hours in total. The leasing cost for the next 10 years will increase by around 45%.

Typhoon, Rafale Shortlisted for India’s MMRCA

The Swedish company SAAB confirmed today that its Gripen combat aircraft has not been shortlisted for the Indian Medium Multi-Role Combat Aircraft (MMRCA) programme.
