Boeing has introduced today its newest unmanned platform, the Boeing Airpower Teaming System (ATS), designed to extend airborne missions through smart teaming with existing, manned military aircraft. Designed and built by Boeing Australia, the ATS represents Boeing's largest investment in a new unmanned aircraft program outside the United States. The Australian government allocated $40 million in support of the program and considers to include the new platform as part the RAAF '5th GEN Air Force' modernization under 'Plan Jericho'
IAI Introduces a Tactical Member of the Heron Family of UAS
IAI is introducing a new member of the Heron family of Unmanned Aerial Systems, designed for tactical operations. The Tactical Heron or T-Heron is positioned as the successor for the company's Searcher tactical UAS. Flight testing of the new UAS is expected to begin in 2019 and continue through the next year.
Raytheon, Dynetics are is Building 100kW Tactical Lasers for the US Army
The Raytheon Company and Dynetics are both developing laser weapon prototypes that will utilize 100 kW class laser weapons. One of the prototypes will be tested by the Army in 2022. Each company received $10 million from the U.S. Army recently, to build a High Energy Laser Tactical Vehicle Demonstrator (HEL TVD) prototype based on the Army Oshkosh tactical FMTV truck.

Australian Forces Select Aerovironment’s Wasp-AE Mini-UAVs
The Australian defense department selected AeroVironment's Wasp AE small unmanned aircraft system for use by the Australian Defence Force (ADF). The Australian order will deliver mini-drones within a period of three-year period, and support the systems for ten years. The contract is worth A$101 million(USD 74.6 million), of which the about half (US$36.5 million) will be the original manufacturer's share.
